These amps are not retakes on classics or clones of vintage amps, but truly unique with a new tube circuit design.

Pure triode amplifiers, zero negative feedback.

Studio quality preamp tubes, the 6922 triode.

Triode output tubes, the 6AS7.

No output transformer.

Extreme ferquency response, from 5Hz to over 50kHz.

Great for bass guitar and acoustic guitar as well as electrics.

Absolutely no 12AX7s in the preamp, or pentodes in the output stage!

These amps represent a new take on instrument amplification, and allow you to be you and not mimick some old fart.

One drawback with tubes is the need for large output transformers that connect the tubes to the speaker. We have designed a tube power amplifier with the low impedance power triode 6AS7 and with it made great guitar amplifiers without the output transformer. The powertubes are directly connected to the speaker without any capacitors or transformers in the way. This type of amplifier is called 'OTL' which is short for 'Output Transformer Less' and has great success in the HiFi spectrum of tube amplification. More than 99% of all guitar amplifiers produced today are based on the typical pentodes such as EL34, 6L6 etc and are all in need of output transformers. OTLs are very different and unique in the guitar amplification world.

The powerful (and beautiful) 6AS7 double triode connects directly to the speaker with great bottom, slamming dynamics, and fingerlicking compression.

Our combos use the highest grade plywood available from Brunzeel, and we do not cover them in dampening tolex. This gives a cabinet that resonates and brings more life to your tone.

Usually DevilDog Amps only builds to order, but this time I decided to climb 'Mount Suribachi' of debt and built a couple of combos using only my own ideas. In other words, there are soon to be a couple of combos for sale.

Under Construction:
